Arlene M. Althouse
Arlene M. Althouse, 75, of 10 E. Strack Drive, Myerstown, died Monday, March 10, 2003, in Lebanon's Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was the wife of Charles W. Althouse Sr., to whom she was married 58 years on Feb. 3.
Born March 31, 1927, in Marion Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Mary Gassert Weik.She worked at the former Marco Electric in Womelsdorf for 12 years. She was a member of the Lebanon Church of the Brethren, TOPS of Lebanon and Mt. Aetna Fire Co. She also was a member of the Mt. Zion Fire Co., where she served on the auxiliary's kitchen committee. She enjoyed flowers, traveling and reading.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are: sons Charles Jr., husband of Cora Althouse of Myerstown and Gary Althouse of Richland; sisters Janet Gerhard of Ephrata, Gracie, wife of Galen Eberly of Manheim, Anna Mae, wife of Donald Fessler of Jonestown, and Ruthie, wife of Jeff Moschella; a brother, Russell, husband of Doris Weik of Myerstown; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lebanon Church of the Brethren, 400 Locust St., Lebanon. Viewing hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Grose Funeral Home, 9 N. College St., Myerstown, and beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, North Annville.
